This policy covers the Star Cleaner apps for mobile, TV, desktop, and supported storage platforms ("the apps") and the starcleaner.app website ("the website"), operated by Oleksandra Starobinska, individual entrepreneur ("we").

Your media and contacts stay on your device

The apps scan photos, videos, files, and contacts entirely on your device. This content is never uploaded to our servers. Cleaning, compression, and the Secret Vault also run fully on-device.

What the apps collect

Some editions may use store-provided or consented product analytics to understand feature usage — for example, whether a scan completes. The applicable store disclosure identifies any enabled provider. This data does not include your photos, videos, contacts, or file paths. Purchases are processed by the platform store where offered; we receive entitlement status, not your payment details.

What the website collects

When you arrive from an ad, the website stores campaign parameters (such as click identifiers and UTM tags) in a first-party cookie so we can measure which ads work. This happens only after you accept the consent banner. With your consent, events and a random pseudonymous session identifier may also be shared with the analytics and advertising platforms the campaign used (Google Analytics, Meta, TikTok). Declining consent keeps the website fully functional.

The website sets these first-party cookies: sc_consent (your consent choice), sc_track_session (a short-lived anti-abuse token, set for every visitor and strictly necessary), and — only after you accept — sc_attr / sc_attr_last (campaign parameters, 90 days) and sc_cid (a random pseudonymous identifier, 1 year). When Google Analytics is enabled, accepting also lets Google set its own first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_*). Withdrawing consent removes all of the above except sc_consent (which records your refusal) and the strictly necessary sc_track_session anti-abuse token.

Data retention

Attribution cookies expire after 90 days. Click-session records contain campaign parameters, the landing page, the referring page, and a user-agent string limited to 256 characters — no name, email, or precise location. Production operations must delete click-session records after 90 days.

Your rights

Depending on your region (including under GDPR and CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete data we hold, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can change or withdraw your cookie consent whenever you like via "Cookie settings" in the website footer; withdrawing removes the attribution and identifier cookies from your browser. Since the apps keep your content on-device, deleting the app removes it. For website data requests, use the contact channel below.
